Ethical Making Statement

Dear Earthling,

At Swan Bridesmaid, we want to make it easy for you to know that your celebration day gown choices are built on fairness and justice.

The idea of Ethical Making means that we think about how our company's actions impact our environment and the people we touch.  Generally, this includes taking into consideration labor, production, supply and distribution.   Ethical Labor includes fair wages or equity, working conditions, mutual respect and co-creativity.  Ethical Production includes methods and quality of machinery, floor use, energy consumption, as well as minimization of waste, excess inventory and rework.   Ethical Supply includes conscious assessments of all components procured to make an object, and their material and manufacturing sources.  Ethical Distribution includes fair compensation for the supply chain, fuel choices and inventory choices.

At Swan, we commit to these principles:

  1. Do no harm.
  2. Make things that last.
  3. Make things that can be reused or repurposed.
  4. Choose textiles that respect the earth.
  5. Pay fair wages.
  6. Select conscious suppliers.

Thank you,

The Swan Team
